For more information on the award, visit https://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov

2. Undergraduate Research Position – Computational Biology

“An undergraduate volunteer research position is available in our group to investigate the structural changes of protein. We are utilizing structural biology tools such as X-ray crystallography and NMR, and the resultant data is rigorously analyzed and modeled using computational approaches. Our research will bridge the fields of protein chemistry, biochemistry, and experimental biophysics.

The position is ideal for sophomore or junior undergraduates who want to develop a strong background in structural biology using computational methods, and who wish to broaden their expertise while converting their scientific findings into a Senior Honors Thesis. We are particularly interested in undergraduate students who would like to learn interdisciplinary approaches to biological questions; therefore, chemical engineering, computer science, mathematics, and physics majors could also be a good fit for this position.

If interested, please email your current unofficial transcript and a statement (max. 1 page) which addresses your motivation and future goals to msen@uh.edu
